Bicycle manufacturers offer different frame geometries for road racing, an aerodynamic position or an endurance position.
A cyclist with a race position will be more stretched and lower (with his head) when reaching the handlebars with his hands. An aerodynamic position is even lower. A more relaxed position (called Endurance) will have less handlebar drop and shorter reach.
But that all changes with a cyclist's individual proportions. A bicycle with a standard endurance geometry (shorter top tube for less streched cyclists position) will allow a race position only for a cyclist who has long legs and a short upper body. He will sit streched on the bicycle even he bought an endurance geometry bicycle.
Means:
Choosing the geometry (for intended use) is one thing.
Choosing the right size (for an individual cyclist's proportions) is something different.
Having your measurements and some information about your riding style will allow me to plan the best frame size for you.
I will ask
1. your individual body measurements
(I send you information on how to measure)
2. let me know about your position on the bicycle
(riding style, intended use, I will ask you some questions for that)
3. I make you a drawing with all measurements for a planned frame geometry and bicycle size
then we fine tune together
